Privacy Policy

1. About this policy

I'm Dan of the Dice, an independent developer. I make web apps, and mobile apps and games. This policy covers all of them. Some parts apply only to the web app and some only to the games, and I've made clear which is which. If you have any questions, email me at hello@danofthedice.com.

2. This website (danofthedice.com)

This site is a small landing page for my projects. It has no accounts and never asks you for personal details.

Analytics, with your consent. I use Google Analytics to understand how the site is used, like which pages people visit and roughly where visitors come from. It's set up with Google Consent Mode, so no analytics cookies are set and nothing is stored on your device until you accept the cookie banner. If you decline, or ignore the banner, Google Analytics stays in a restricted mode that sets no cookies and does not identify you.

What it collects, only after you accept. Usage data, device and browser details, and an approximate location derived from your IP address. I use this only to improve the site, never for advertising.

Your choice is remembered. When you accept or decline, I save that preference in your browser's local storage so you're not asked again. You can change your mind at any time by clearing this site's browser storage, which brings the banner back.

3. My games (Google Play and iOS)

My games do not collect, store, or transmit any personal data. I don't use analytics, advertising SDKs, crash reporting, or any other third-party tracking in them. I have no access to your name, email, device identifiers, location, or anything else.

Save data stays on your device. My games save your progress locally using your device storage. It never leaves your device, I can’t access it, and it’s removed when you uninstall the game.

In-app purchases (if any) are handled by the stores. Some games offer optional in-app purchases, processed entirely by the Apple App Store or Google Play. I don't handle, receive, or store any payment information. How Apple and Google handle your payment and account data is governed by their own privacy policies.

Internet access is only for purchases. My games connect to the internet solely to reach the App Store or Google Play billing when you choose to buy something. That connection is made by Apple's or Google's own libraries, not my servers.

4. The Table Warden web app

The web app works differently from my games, because it has accounts and syncs your content. Here is what that involves.

Account. You can sign up with an email address, or sign in with Google. If you sign in with Google, I receive basic profile information like your name and email. You can set a display name, which I store.

Your content. So your work is saved and synced across devices, I store the content you create: characters (including anything you import from D&D Beyond), custom creatures, encounters, NPCs, your combat state, and your settings. It is linked to your account, and only you can access it.

Shared sessions. When you share a live session, I create a record with a short share code so your players can follow along. While a session is active, anyone with the code can view it. Shared sessions expire automatically after a few hours.

Error monitoring. I use Sentry to find and fix problems. It collects technical data like your IP address, browser and device details, the pages you visit, and diagnostics when something breaks. Sentry stores this within the EU.

Analytics. I use Google Analytics to understand how the web app is used, like which pages people visit and roughly where visitors come from. It collects usage data, device and browser details, and an approximate location from your IP address, and it sets its own cookies to do this. I use this only to improve the app, never for advertising.

Cookies. The web app uses cookies and local storage to keep you signed in and remember your preferences, and Google Analytics sets cookies to measure usage. I don't use advertising cookies.

Security. To prevent abuse, I briefly log technical identifiers like IP addresses when requests hit the API. These are deleted automatically within a few hours.

5. How I use your data

I use this data to run and maintain my products, save and sync your content, enable shared sessions, fix errors and improve reliability, and protect against abuse. I don't sell your data, and I don't use it for advertising.

6. Service providers (web app)

The web app relies on a few providers, and I share data with them only so they can run the service:

Supabase — database and authentication.

Sentry — error monitoring (data stored in the EU).

Google Analytics — usage analytics.

Google — only if you sign in with your Google account.

Vercel — hosting.

I don't sell or share your personal data with advertisers or data brokers.

7. Data retention

I keep your account and content for as long as your account exists. Shared sessions and security logs are deleted automatically within hours. You can delete your account and all its data at any time from within the web app.

8. Children's privacy

My products are not directed at children under the age of 13, and I don't knowingly collect personal data from children. My games collect no data at all, so there is no risk there.

9. Your rights

For the web app, you can view and update your content in the app, and delete your account and all its data at any time. Depending on where you live, you may have extra rights to access, correct, export, or delete your data, so email me at hello@danofthedice.comand I'll help. For my games, I hold no personal data, so there is nothing to access, correct, or delete.

10. Changes to this policy

If I make any material changes, I'll update the date at the top of this page. It's worth checking back occasionally if you want to stay informed. Continued use of my products after a change means you accept the updated policy.
